Abstract

Two lithic scatters are reported that appear to be associated with Early Moloko homesteads. On the basis of the spatial location of the lithic scatters within the homesteads, some ideas are presented as to the nature of forager visits and their work in the homesteads. The location of one scatter within the back courtyard of a household indicates that foragers were constrained to the outer margins of the homestead. It is suggested that this was an appropriate spatial metaphor for foragers, in which their lives within and close to 'nature' was emphasised.
